Our Rich History
The West Bengal State Handicrafts Co-operative Society Ltd was established in the year 1973 with the objective of offering marketing, design and technology support on the Primary Handicrafts Co-operative Societies, S.S.I. Units. This is the State level Apex Co-operative Society under the department of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises & Textiles Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The Marketing Outlets of the Society is known as “Bangasree”.
The main activities of this Apex Organization is to arrange marketing of the finished products in Handicrafts & Handlooms sector of the Artisans/ Weavers of Bengal. After procurement we market it through our 12 nos. Sales Outlet spread in various places of West Bengal & India & through Expo/ Exhibition and now we are going for online marketing.
